A Segment is a reusable marketing asset that combines both
Demographic Groups and Like Groups. Once you’ve defined your Like and Demographic
groups, you pair them together in a Likester AdCenter Segment. A segment allows
you to target this same group of users over and over with a few simple clicks. Defining
demographic and psychographic elements through the Facebook UI is cumbersome and
laborious, and Likester AdCenter makes it simple.

A Likester AdCenter publication allows you to target an
entire Segment with new Facebook Ads with just a few clicks. Once you’ve created
your Segment, you simply click “Create New Publication”, which explodes your segment
into Ad Groups. The Ad Groups that Likester creates for you automatically are created
using all of the possible combinations of Likes and demographics within your segment.
For example, if you are targeting two Likes, in two locations, we’ll create four
Ad Groups.
Each publication has additional Facebook settings, such as, the default
creative and bidding strategies that you want to deploy. You also have the ability
to override those Publication settings at the Ad Group level, for example, customizing
the messaging (or bidding strategies) that you want to deploy for any given like
or demographical combination. This makes it easy to customize your entire campaign
with just a few clicks.

This is currently only available if you work with a Facebook approved Ads API Partner such as Likester, you cannot do this through the Facebook Advertising user interface. Essentially, what this allows you to do is have Facebook managing your bidding for you. You can set your goals to target things such as Likes or Application installs, and then Facebook will manage your bids in an attempt to hit that goal.
