José Rivera Morales mejor conocido en el mundo del reggaetón como Kendo Kaponi nació un 19 de agosto de 1984 en Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. Descubrió su vocación por la música y arte para contar historias, a través de las canciones que escribía en su libreta cuando estudiaba en la escuela secundaria. A sus 18 años debutó en el género urbano gracias a su amigo Jomar quien lo invitó a formar parte del disco Desafío. Aunque en sus comienzos experimentó como cantante, Kaponi se dedicó a escribir líricas para otros artistas. Los primeros en apostar por su talento fueron Baby Rasta y Gringo a ellos se unieron Wisin & Yandel con el tema “Quítame el dolor” y R.K.M y Ken-Y con “Por amor a ti”. Tony Dize, Franco El Gorila, Arcangel y Coscuella también han sido testigos de la calidad de su trabajo.
