Rino Gaetano |

Nato a Crotone, in Calabria da una famiglia originaria di Cutro, Rino Gaetano si trasferisce a Roma alletà di dieci anni, per motivi legati al lavoro dei suoi genitori. Per problemi familiari (il padre soffriva di cuore) nel 1962 Rino venne mandato a studiare in una scuola Apostolica a Narni, in provincia di Terni. Torna nella città capitolina dove vivrà per tutto il resto della sua vita, prima in via Cimone nei dintorni di piazza Sempione, nel quartiere di Monte Sacro e successivamente in via Nomentana Nuova. Giovanissimo, insieme a un gruppo di amici crea il quartetto dei Krunx composto da Giuseppe Lazzarotti basso, Nicola Giordano chitarra ritmica, Carlo Tatta batteria: Rino cantava, suonava la chitarra solista e componeva le prime canzoni: in particolare loriginale sigla del complesso up, up, the Krunx. Il gruppo eseguiva cover dei Beatles e dei Rolling Stones, spesso in un inglese maccheronico.
