John Heald |
Public figure
In 1986, John Heald answered a newspaper ad for Carnival Cruise Lines and was hired to join the bar department aboard the Holiday. Although he appeared destined for a food and beverage career, Heald’s quick wit and engaging personality made him a natural for the entertainment world and, in 1989, he was promoted to social host. In 1990, Heald traveled to Helsinki, Finland, to help launch Carnival’s first 70,000-ton ship, the Carnival Fantasy. His easy rapport with guests was evident, promoting him to cruise director. In March 2004, Heald was again promoted, only this time it was to the newly created position of senior cruise director for Carnival Cruise Lines. ...view more
