Alternative/Post Grunge: This is the story of BLAKC. BLAKC is a band from Mumbai made up of five very unique, talented individuals. They are (in no order of importance) Shawn Pereira, Shishir Thakur, Roop Thomas, Rein Dias and Anish Menon. Before we get to know them better, let’s see how BLAKC was first formed. In early 2006, Shawn was a fun-loving college-going kid. His priorities in life were to attend as little college as possible while meeting as many women as possible. He decided the way to go was to be a rockstar. Enter Anish, another fun-loving, college-going kid. He wanted to be a high flying guy in the corporate world. So much so that he actually turned up for one of BLAKC’s gigs at a later time in a suit, and then left without playing. But he too wanted to be a rockstar. They made a lot more money and did a lot less to earn it. Anyway, Anish met Shawn and concluded that they might just have something in common.
