Música popular venezolana : Simón Díaz (1928- ). Es el más célebre músico, compositor e intérprete del género popular venezolano y su obra es considerada como uno de los legados más importantes tanto para la música popular venezolana como para el repertorio musical del resto del continente. Conocido mayormente por el rescate de la Tonada Llanera, Simón Díaz, convencido de que la tonada del llano venezolano es un aire musical de características únicas, se dedicó enteramente a difundirla, estudiarla y componerla hasta constituirla en un auténtico género musical en el que han conseguido expresarse grandes artistas como Mercedes Sosa (Argentina), Caetano Veloso, Ivan Lins y Joyce (Brasil), Joan Manuel Serrat (España), Danny Rivera, Ednita Nazario, Cheo Feliciano y Gilberto Santa Rosa (Puerto Rico), Franco De Vita (Venezuela), entre otros.
