Gerald Giam has been a member of the Workers’ Party since January 2009 and he is involved in the party’s policy analysis and research work to formulate alternative proposals on national issues. For the past two years, he has been involved in WP’s weekly house visits, which gives him a better understanding of the concerns of ordinary Singaporeans. As the WP’s Assistant Webmaster, he engages Singaporeans through new media platforms like Facebook and blogs. Gerald is a prolific writer about issues concerning Singapore. He is the author of the book, Singapore version 2.0: Alternative proposals for a better Singapore. His personal blog, geraldgiam.sg, is one of the most recognisable socio-political blogs in Singapore. Gerald graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
