Aviva’s involvement in the special needs community started as she developed her practice as a licensed Occupational Therapist. She faced her own “Now what?” moment when her own child was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder (SPD). Faced with the dilemma of finding the right products to help her child– and finding that the solutions she needed were either not available, prohibitively expensive or so clinical that they only magnified the differences between her child and her classmates – Aviva set out to build Fun and Function, a catalog and website devoted to making sure children with special needs get the tools they need to succeed.
